How Can You Get TRT In The UK?
There are two main ways to get TRT in the UK;
NHS
The first step would be to visit your GP and inform of your symptoms and request to have a blood test. Based on the results, if your testosterone levels are low, your GP may refer you to an Endocrinologist for further tests and you may be prescribed with TRT.
If, you are prescribed with TRT your visits and treatment is free, subject to dispensary costs you would pay for any prescription. However, this option can be time consuming as this can take months and is not guaranteed.
Private GPs, Health Clinics or Medical Facilitators
All three of the above offer more or less of the same service, differences include catering for some clients differently and treatment prices may be a little expensive.
The first step would be to either discuss any symptoms relating to low testosterone levels and or requesting a blood test. Depending on the results, should it transpire you suffer from low testosterone levels a consultation will take place followed by medication being prescribed. Benefits of this option is your treatment may start within a week from the initial blood test and you will be monitored for as long as you are on the treatment with follow up consultations and blood tests.

Forms of Testosterone medication are:
Gels, Injections, Pellets, Patches and Gum
The two most common are Gels and Injections due to the ease of application and effectiveness. Both have Pros and Cons for example, Gels are not as effective as injections and some people do not like injections.
Gels such as Androgel and Testim come in packets or pump and are absorbed directly on the skin either on the shoulder, arms or abdomen once a day.
Injections such as Testosterone Enanthate or Testosterone Propionate is injected directly into the muscles usually the Glute, Shoulder or Quad.
By treating low testosterone with TRT you should see the difference within the first few days and between 3 – 6 months most symptoms should have reduced or disappeared.
It is to be noted that TRT is a long term treatment in order to balance the hormone levels and not an overnight fix. These levels will be monitored and medications i.e. type and quantity adjusted to suit each patient.
